Exhaustion

Jack...Jack...Damn it Jack, stop! Stepping in front, Warren grabs Jack's shoulders. What do I have to do to get through to you? Tears soaking his lashes, Jack looks into Warren's face. I can't do this anymore, I am too tired...exhausted from all the blood, ripped flesh, and finding innocent people dead like trash on the street. You don't understand, you can't comprehend just how many there have been. What do you mean? Are there more than the last five victims? Yes. Where...where are they Jack?! Ha-ha-ha hysterical laugh combined with sobs Do you actually think this f'ing bastard has only done this in London...England and just in 1888 Warren? Do you? Jack's voice raises in pitch. Think about it man, he is not your run-of-the-mill killer. He is a serial killer for god's sake and will keep on until he is stopped...dead...in his tracks! He has 'skills' beyond the knowledge of this day... Yes, but so do you Jack and you're not murdering anyone. Right now, that is all I am thinking about...just one man needs to die to end this reign of terror.
Warren sees the state his new friend is in and he grows more concerned. Jack, you need to calm down and get hold of yourself; how can I help you otherwise? You need to rest. Where are your lodgings? Seething in Fenchurch. There's a cab, it will be quicker and then you can better explain what is really going on here. Jack collapses inside the carriage and silence falls between them. Arriving at Jack's lodgings, Warren gets him to his room and again Jack passes out, this time on the bed, in a heap resembling dirty laundry. Warren stares at the man unconscious before him and wonders how long he has suffered the tortures of the damned. What had he done to deserve the burdens he carries and why is he so obsessed with the killer who has been terrorizing his city. All he can do now is wait until this broken man wakes up...what may happen in the meantime begins to weigh on Warren's shoulders...no one seems to be free now...as Warren gazes out the window, he can see the lights in the Tower of London just a few blocks away, how ironic.
